Happy Canada Day everyone! For us the day started with Curtis offering to take Isaac and me out for breakfast, so I mentioned that there was a pancake breakfast starting at 8am, and that's where we went. Isaac's enthusiasm was contagious - when he started waving the little paper flags that were decorating the tables, he wanted me and Curtis to join in, and another lady at the table started waving one, too. We met that same lady later at the park where other Canada Day celebrations were going on. As you can see from some of the photos Curtis posted, there were lots of games and activities for the kids to do. We met several people that we knew, and in talking with one of them, Curtis mentioned that it was one year yesterday that we moved into our home here in Smithers. Wow!
While Isaac and I stayed at the park, Curtis zipped home for some nourishment, and brought some back for us, along with the news that we'd been invited to join his parents and his brother and family at Tyhee Lake for some boating! (Needless to say, he didn't have to ask twice!) So, home we went to pack for a trip to the lake, which was so refreshing on such a warm day. Isaac especially enjoyed the tube rides, as you can see from his expressions.
We headed home around 5, to make supper, and the skies were clouding over. When the thunder storm started as we sat down to eat, we were thankful we left when we did! We enjoyed God's display of power, and even sat outside to get a better view after supper until the rain came down. After that, we went downstairs to watch one of Isaac's DVD's, and then it was time to start his bedtime routine. Now, as I type this, Curtis is visiting with one of his friends via phone.
Hope you had a great day, too!
